16A: What’s Your Secret Sauce?

I believe my human capital consists of empathy, kindness, consideration, and awareness for others. Interview 1: Bhakti and I have been friends since middle school and she is currently my roommate. She discusses human capital and how it has grown in a variety of ways, but mentions how my inclusiveness of others and kindness in group settings is very noticeable. Interview 2: Britney mentioned how I was personable to others and really made sure others were included in any group setting I am involved in, whether it be a familiar one or a new group. I have known Britney since the first day I moved into my dorm freshman year. Interview 3: Krishnah has known me for about two years and we were event co-directors in Indian Students Association. In his interview, he says I connect well with groups in group projects and I very aware of others around me. Interview 4: Chandni has known for me for about two years. In her interview, she says that I have great adaptability skills and...

15A: Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2

Interview 1 : The person that I interviewed said that out of the three factors, price mattered the most. As a working college student, this person mentioned that she is limited on her expenses so she can only pay for items up to a certain threshold. She is also more likely to buy in a store because she has had bad experiences with online shopping and she wants to physically see the product in her hand so she can get a better feeling about it, and she will use debit card. Post-purchase, she thinks about how often she uses a product, so if she uses it frequently, it's a good purchase and will think it's a bad purchase if she doesn't use it often. Interview 2 : The person that I interviewed said that out of the three factors, style mattered the most. The aesthetics is what catches her eye and she is very picky about the looks of certain items. She is also more likely to buy online because of convenience and the variety of choices. Plus, she likes that she can see reviews ...

14A: Halfway Reflection

Image
1)  Tenaciousness is a competency.  What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course?  Because all the assignments are due at the same time every week, I've learned to keep a set routine and fit those assignments into my schedule. Since I am taking other summer classes and working, some of those requirements may vary week to week, but the assignment schedule for this class is set, so I can plan and expect to work on these assignments every week and know how much time I can dedicate, hence utilizing my time management skills. 2)  Tenaciousness is also about attitude.  Talk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months? What experience or experiences most contributed to this? As every student can relate, college is a tough time for students. It's a big adjustment and hard for students to ...

13A: Reading Reflection No.1

1) You read about an entrepreneur: The book I read was Coco Chanel by Lisa Chaney. This fashion entrepreneur surprised me by her positive attitude. She never failed to give up when facing adversity and failure, rather, she turned the situations around to her advantage. I admired that she didn't let the social concepts of that time period stop her. She was a woman, but she strived to prove society wrong. At the same time, she was looking for love in all the wrong places, which was something I leased admired. All of her significant others affected her negatively, but still was longing for love. 2) What competencies did you notice that the entrepreneur exhibited? She broke barriers. She cut her hair and wore mens clothing to step outside of beauty norms that were dictated by society.  3) Identify at least one part of the reading that was confusing to you. I was confused about the shift of point of view. It started with the grandmother and then jumped around. 4) If you were a...

12A: Figuring out Buyer Behavior No.1

My interviews dealt with time management and people who have busy schedules. The unmet need for saving time deals with how accurate the app is. If there is a lag in the information and the app doesn't offer correct information, then people will be discouraged and will find the app useless because it is wasting their time.

11A: Idea Napkin No. 1

*I slightly changed my product from an electronic billboard to an app after some suggestions from my peers, so thank you to those who gave the suggestion :)* 1)  You. My name is Anisha Patel and I see this app as a way to make a stressful life a little less stressful. This past year was the first year I lived off campus and had a car in Gainesville, and I experienced first-hand the issue with parking. And I complained about it, every single time I had to drive my car to campus. So this app would fit in my lifestyle perfectly because I don't have to worry about driving around for 15-20 minutes and worry about timing out the rush hour and the drive to and from my apartment. 2)  What are you offering to customers? I'm offering an app that will accurately post the number of parking spots available for drivers in each parking lot/garage on college campuses. 3)  Who are you offering it to? I'm offering this to universities and students who believe parking is an issu...

9A: Testing the Hypothesis, Part 2

Who: My hypothesis is that this opportunity exists for a major portion of the UF population: university students who utilize campus after normal class hours.  What: This opportunity will save time and produces less traffic on busy roads on campus, such as the intersection of Museum Drive and Newell Road, where multiple parking areas are located. Why: Traffic is a big issue on campus and partially due to people driving around all over the central part of campus looking for parking, which also affects people who are not directly affected, also known as the outsiders' need. Inside the Boundary Outside the Boundary ·          People who struggle to find parking ·          People who use campus parking frequently ·          Mostly students ·          Faculty or any person who is able...

8A: Solving The Problem

1) The need comes from the amount of time students spend in their cars, trying to find a parking spot on campus that is close to libraries or popular meeting areas. I believe an opportunity exists where UF can speed up the process for students who are looking for parking on campus. This could be met by having a counting machine that displays the number of available spots at the entrance. This is something I have mentioned in a previous assignment. 2) This could be met by having an electronic billboard at the entrance of each parking garage or parking lot on campus that allows students to see how many parking spots are available for students or having a counting machine that displays the number of available spots at the entrance. There could be a sensor at the entrance and exit that will add and subtract to the sign.
