13A: Reading Reflection No.1

1) You read about an entrepreneur:
The book I read was Coco Chanel by Lisa Chaney. This fashion entrepreneur surprised me by her positive attitude. She never failed to give up when facing adversity and failure, rather, she turned the situations around to her advantage. I admired that she didn't let the social concepts of that time period stop her. She was a woman, but she strived to prove society wrong. At the same time, she was looking for love in all the wrong places, which was something I leased admired. All of her significant others affected her negatively, but still was longing for love.
2) What competencies did you notice that the entrepreneur exhibited?
She broke barriers. She cut her hair and wore mens clothing to step outside of beauty norms that were dictated by society.
3) Identify at least one part of the reading that was confusing to you.
I was confused about the shift of point of view. It started with the grandmother and then jumped around.
4) If you were able to ask two questions to the entrepreneur, what would you ask? Why?
How did she find the courage to break societal barriers? What advice would you give to those trying to step outside of norms dictated by society?
These questions are important because in today's society, everything is constantly changing but there is some ideologies that will stay the same, so it's important to find innovation and courage to push these challenges for a positive and promising future.
5) For fun: what do you think the entrepreneur's opinion was of hard work? Do you share that opinion?
Her enjoyment came from her hard work. If you enjoy what you're doing, you'll enjoy the effort and time putting into anything you set your mind to, which is something I agree with.
